Chairman's engagements include visit to Children's Bereavement charity
Nottinghamshire County Council Chairman Coun Mrs Sue Saddington is preparing for a busy week as she visits different organisations across the county and welcomes schoolchildren to County Hall.
On Tuesday 12 March, Councillor Saddington will visit the Children's Bereavement Centre in Newark to see first hand the work delivered by the charity.
Later that afternoon the chairman will visit Gladstone House, an extra care development in Newark for people aged over 65. Gladstone House was designed to allow older people to live independently and safely, as their needs change over time. Coun Saddington will learn about the work and the achievements of staff from three partner agencies based there and will also have an opportunity to hear the views and opinions of the residents during her visit.
On Wednesday 13 March, the Chairman will visit Rumbles Catering Project in Clipstone, a registered charity which provides training in catering and life skills for people with learning difficulties.
On Thursday 14 March the Chairman will be attending the Active Notts Awards. The evening will celebrate and highlight the work and achievements of those involved in physical activity and sport.
Councillor Saddington will conclude the working week by hosting children from Greythorn School's school council on Friday 15 March. The children will learn more about democracy and will have a tour of County Hall, including the Council Chamber where all the council's public meetings take place.
