Chairman to attend school sporting event in Kirkby in Ashfield

Nottinghamshire County Council Chairman, Councillor Kevin Rostance, will be attending a sporting event this week.

On Thursday 26 July, the Chairman will be attending the Midland Games at Ashfield School in Kirkby in Ashfield. This is a by-annual event of track and field athletics, and Boccia – a precision ball sport for people with a physical disability who require the use of a wheelchair.

Councillor Rostance said, “I am delighted to attend such a fantastic event that celebrates some of the counties young and aspiring athletes.”

Councillor Wallace, Vice Chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council, will attend the Limetree Hospice Reception Thursday evening at The City Ground, home of Nottingham Forest. Plans around providing the first bedded hospice for southern Nottinghamshire will be revealed and presented to guests. The Vice-Chairman will be joined by local MPs, district Mayors and the High Sheriff amongst other guests.

Coun Wallace said, “I am thrilled to hear about Limetree Hospice’s plans for the first bedded hospice for Southern Nottinghamshire. Excellent care and dignity at the end-of-life is something we all want for ourselves, our loved ones and for our community, this new facility will provide a home from home for terminally ill patients who are unable to stay at home.”
