Chairman and Vice Chairman to remember fallen heroes at local Remembrance Day events
Nottinghamshire County Council Chairman, Councillor Kevin Rostance, will be attending several Remembrance Day events this week.
On Thursday 7 November, Councillor Kevin Rostance, Chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council will be attending the Forest Forces Great War Memorial visit to Nottingham’s Great War Memorial Gardens, Victoria Embankment at 1.30pm.
Dr David Nunn will deliver a talk about the history behind the brave people of Nottinghamshire who lost their lives in the Great War. Attendees of the event will then head to Nottingham Forest Football Club to hear a presentation about the Nottingham War Memorial Garden restoration project.
On Sunday 10 November, the Vice- Chairman Councillor Stuart Wallace will attend the annual Remembrance Sunday Service at Newark Town Hall, and Chairman Councillor Rostance will attend the annual Service of Remembrance at the Memorial Gardens, Victoria Embankment.
Councillor Rostance said: “It is an honour to attend these Remembrance Day events. I, along with fellow dignitaries, will lay a wreath at the Memorial Gardens this Sunday to pay our respects and express thanks to all those who lost their lives for their country. I hope the people of Nottinghamshire will also join us in paying their respects.”
