Car parks at Nottinghamshire country parks and green spaces set to reopen
The County Council can confirm that the car parks at its country parks and green spaces will reopen from Saturday 16 May following recent Government advice.
Rufford Abbey Country Park, Holme Pierrepont Country Park- home of the National Water Sports Centre, Bestwood Country Park, Cotgrave Country Park and car parks attached to 1,900 hectares of green spaces the Council manages will reopen.
The car park at Sherwood Forest currently remains closed whilst plans are put in place for a safe reopening.
Councillor John Cottee, Communities and Place Chairman said: “I would like to thank everyone for their patience since we were asked to close the car parks under the Government’s Coronavirus guidelines. The parks have all remained open but only been able to be used by people locally.
“With people now able to travel to get out and about or for exercise we have worked with our partners to re-open car parks. I would like to remind people that strict social distancing guidelines remain, and we will monitor usage so we can ensure everybody’s safety.
“Shops, cafes, visitor centres along with play areas will remain closed.”
All car parks will be open at the times they were previously apart from Rufford Abbey Country Park and Home Pierrepont Country Park who have revised times, detailed below.
