Funding criteria and eligibility

The North Nottinghamshire LEADER area has a population of around 150,000. It is a well-connected rural area interspersed by large villages and market towns. The area sits at the heart of Sherwood Forest and is connected by the spine of the former Great North Road, the A1 running between the urban hinterlands of Nottingham and Sheffield.

In total, £1.5m of funding is available to support projects in the North Nottinghamshire LEADER area.

  • all applicants must operate within the designated LEADER area shown on the map
  • applicants must be legal entities such as:
    • micro and small businesses
    • social enterprises
    • farmers
    • growers
    • foresters
    • land managers
    • other voluntary, community and public sector organisations
  • projects should contribute to the North Nottinghamshire Local Development Strategy (LDS) priorities and should help:
    • create jobs
    • grow rural businesses
    • support the rural economy.
