Make Do and Mend workshop

Monday 18 March 2019 6pm to 9pm Mansfield Materials Recovery Facility Free

Organised by Veolia (Nottinghamshire County Council’s waste contractors) the focus of these sessions is to reduce textile waste by teaching people basic sewing skills to mend, repair, alter and reuse fabrics into new purposes reminding everyone that textiles should not go in the kerbside recycling bin The workshop will include a tour of the facility where you can see first hand what happens to the items you put into your recycling bin and the importance of putting the correct things in. For all the workshops we will try to use recycled or donated materials and fabric to ensure as much material is reused in Nottinghamshire as possible Monday 18th March 2019 Theme: All Tied Up Investigate and learn how to use old and unused men's ties to make a range of items. If you have any ties that are no longer worn and would like to use them for a new project bring them along.

All residents of Nottinghamshire county council area are welcome. Children must be aged 7 and over and must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
