Get ready to discover the best new children's books of the year with InspiREAD!
Inspire’s primary book award is back and our ELS librarians have carefully selected the best books published in the last year, across three categories: picture books, shorter books, and longer novels. Now it's over to you to read and vote for your favourites!
Pick up copies of shortlisted books at your local library (subject to availability) or online at a discount with nottinghambooks.co.uk.
You can vote in one, two, or all three categories, and the final winner in each category will be announced at the Inspire Awards evening on 29 June 2023.

Small World Cinema

Explore making movie images in this creative film session then settle down to watch a series of short animations. Find out how early cinema pioneers invented different ways to make images come to life.
Children will make Zoetropes and Thaumatropes, popular Victorian optical toys, to animate images. Then families can settle down to enjoy a programme of short animations, curated by the London International Animation Festival at our brand new pop-up cinema. These are from around the world and are largely without dialogue so can be enjoyed by all.
Dementia friendly film screening of Peter Rabbit
31 May, 1.30pm at Mansfield Central Library
A rebellious rabbit tries to sneak into a farmer's vegetable garden!
These relaxed screenings are particularly suitable for people living with dementia and memory challenges, their family and friends but anyone is welcome. Please feel free to talk, sing and move during the screening.
Places are limited, so booking is highly advised!

We're all about discovering the great outdoors, having fun and making memories to last a lifetime. Our centres are located around Nottinghamshire and in the beautiful Peak District, each offering something unique and different.
The Mill Adventure Base Holiday Club
