Centre staff will welcome your group and describe the day’s programme, learning objectives, and the health and safety issues.

½ Day Course Programme

For this half day the pupils will be immersed in the Life and Times of a child during the Viking age in Britain. Guided by the resident Perlethorpe Viking your children will travel back in time to a small Viking settlement. Here the children will hear tales and learn of Viking life, also getting the chance to complete chores children would be doing 1000 years ago. Placed into 3 clans your pupils will rotate round 3 activities including flour and jewellery and learning of the feared shield wall. There will also be the opportunity to examine historical artefacts and create visual timelines.

Back at the Centre the group will reflect on their day and consider how well the learning objectives have been met.
