Step two: Home visit
Once you've read the fostering information pack and discussed fostering with all the people who will be involved, you need to telephone the recruitment team to discuss a home visit. This will be a short call to discuss your interest, experience and personal circumstances.
A supervising social worker will contact you to discuss arranging a visit where you will be able to talk through the fostering process and ask any questions you might have.
After this you will be given some time to think about the decision to foster and digest some of the information already discussed with you. We can also arrange a buddy visit with an experienced foster carer to give you an opportunity to find out more.
There will then be a follow up visit, and if you and the supervising social worker feel you are ready to proceed, you will be given a registration of interest form to complete.
