Leicestershire Police
CSE - Kayleigh’s love story
Leicestershire Police has made its film to raise awareness of the dangers of online grooming and exploitation available nationally. The film, based on the real-life experiences of 15 year old Kayleigh Haywood, highlights how quickly and easily children can be groomed online without them or those around them knowing it is happening. Kayleigh’s love story has previously been shown in secondary schools Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland in controlled screenings by specially trained officers. Since the film was launched nationwide at the start of this year it has been viewed and shared millions of times online. Several different versions of the film, which is approximately 5 minutes in length, are available via the Leicestershire Police YouTube channel, including BSL and audio description.

E-learning
FGM Home Office E-learning
A free online course is available called 'Recognising and preventing FGM'. It includes an assessment and following completion a certificate can be printed off.
It is useful for anyone who is interested in gaining an overview of FGM, particularly frontline staff in healthcare, police, border force and children’s social care.
Forced Marriage E-learning
A free on-line course developed by Virtual College and the Government is now available called: Awareness of Forced Marriage. It takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete. This course is aimed at all professionals who have a responsibility to safeguard vulnerable children, young people and adults at risk.
The module should enable you to:
- recognise the warning signs of forced marriage
- take the right actions to protect the potential victim
- co-operate effectively with other agencies.
Preventing Child Sexual Abuse – Online Learning Programme
This is a programme that has been created by The Lucy Faithfull Foundation’s “Stop it Now” child sexual abuse prevention campaign – aimed at enabling practitioners and parents to identify and act upon their concerns about potential or actual child sexual abuse – by being able to recognise some key signs and behaviours in children and young people that may indicate that they are being groomed or abused.
As well as the learning programme, there are a range of resources on the Parents Protect website that you can download and use with parents and carers, as well as posters that can be put up on parent and staff notice boards.

Child Attachment E-learning - NICE
NICE has launched a free e-learning tool to help practitioners to implement its guidance on attachment in children who are adopted from care, in care or at high risk of going into care. A login is needed to access the course but this can be created for free.
Continuing Healthcare E-learning – NHS England
NHS England, in conjunction with the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services, has developed an electronic training tool for all those involved in assessment and decision making around NHS Continuing Healthcare. The tool, fully endorsed by the Department of Health, was worked on by staff within this complex policy area from the NHS, Adult Social Care and patient representative groups.
