Christmas bonus

A one-off payment of £10 paid automatically to people claiming certain benefits in the qualifying week. This is normally the first full week of December.

Who can apply

This benefit is aimed at:

  • Long term ill
  • Disabled
  • State pension age
  • Carers
  • Unemployed/ part-time works

The bonus will be paid automatically if you receive: 

  • Attendance Allowance
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Carer’s Allowance
  • Long-Term Incapacity Benefit
  • Severe Disablement Allowance
  • Personal Independence Payment
  • State Retirement Pension
  • Pension Credit
  • Widowed Mother’s Allowance
  • Widowed Parent’s Allowance
  • Widow’s Pension
  • Industrial Death Benefit
  • Mobility supplement
  • War Disablement Pension
  • War Widow’s or Surviving Civil Partner’s Pension or main phase Contributory Employment and
  • Support Allowance.

The payment will be added to your usual benefit payment; it will only be paid once, even if you receive more than one of the above benefits.

How to apply

You should receive this payment automatically if you are entitled the benefits mentioned above.
