How to register a death
COVID-19 (Coronavirus): From Monday 30 March 2020, deaths will be registered by telephone appointment ONLY until further notice. To make an appointment, please call 0300 500 8080.
If you would like to use the Tell Us Once service then we can complete a capture for you and provide a unique reference number to take home from the appointment. This reference, along with some extra information provided on how to complete, will allow you to finish the process through a few different methods and notify any relevant authorities.
If the deceased was a former coal miner, or a dependent, in receipt of a mining pension, you can access specialist support during the coronavirus outbreak.
