About this course
On this short course you will discover and enjoy the life and works of Countess Manvers of Thoresby Hall, a local woman artist, her work and influences. The work of this interesting woman spans the 20th Century and depicts local and global change.

This three-hour taster, gives learners the opportunity to find out about this artist, and make comparisons with other women artists of the same period. Understand key art terms and approaches to reading portraiture, travel painting and still life. Discovering and analysing how this artist approached these subjects.
By the end of this course you will begin to develop skills in:
- Understanding the work of a lesser-known 20th Century woman artist
- An understanding of academy training
