NSU

What is it? (Non Specific Urethritis)

NSU only affects men

Symptoms

• Pain or burning when passing urine (peeing)
• Needing to pass urine (pee) frequently
• Discharge from the penis

Caused by

Several types of infection can cause NSU although it is usually caused by a sexually transmitted infection (normally Chlamydia).  Very rarely it can result from friction during sex, allergy or excess alcohol.

Treatment

It is easily treated with antibiotics.

Effects on Health

Inflammation of testicles and infertility (inability to have a child).
