Lakeside Adventure Base is located at the National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrepont.  The Holiday Club will run during the summer holidays and will offer full days (08:45 to 17.00) of adventurous activities for young people aged 11 - 15 years and Extreme Activity Days for 14 - 18 year olds..

The programme of activities for 11 - 15 year olds will be skill development based and include:

  • kayaking,
  • canoeing,
  • sailing,
  • raft building,
  • climbing,
  • team games.

The cost will be £20 per day.  If you attend an appropriate number of sessions you can obtain an award in kayaking, canoeing or sailing (cost of log books / certificates are extra).

For those young people aged 14 - 18 who would like more of a challenge there are limited number of extreme activity days available to take part in . The day will involve white water rafting and duckying (2 person craft) on the slalom course at Holme Pierrepont.

Adventure activities are great for developing confidence, gaining awards, trust, team skills and making new friends.  The activities will provide action packed days in a safe environment, getting plenty of fresh air, exercise, learning new skills and experiencing new challenges that will be talked about for a long time after.

Disability Sailing at the Mill

On Saturday afternoons disability sailing sessions will be available for young people aged 11 - 19 years to experience and learn basis sailing skills.

Dates :  9 May until 5 September 2009
Sessions Times :  13.30 - 15.30
Cost :  £2 per person per session

All young people will need a consent form to take part in activities.  Places are limited so booking is essential.  You will need to contact The Mill with details of disability before attending.

The Visitor Centre will be open for parents / carers and staff to purchase refreshments during the session.
