What is the Arts Award?

The Arts Award is a national qualification which supports young people to develop as artists and arts leaders. Young people aged 11-25 of all interests and abilities can gain awards through any art form or cultural activity. The Arts Award is run by Arts Council England and Trinity Guildhall.

How Does a Young Person Take Part?

Each young person sets personal challenges in a chosen arts or cultural activity, supported by a trained professional.  The Arts Award assesses personal development and not specific skill level in the chosen art form.  Young people can achieve an award in any cultural activity, including technical and support roles such as

  • arts,
  • marketing,
  • stage lighting,
  • web design,
  • exhibition curation.

Young people can choose any media to document their progress e.g. written, video or audiotape, web-based.
