Statement of Purpose
The Youth Service is an integral element of the "Inclusion and Engagement Division" of Children and Young People's Services of Nottinghamshire County Council and sits alongside Education Otherwise Than At School (EOTAS), the Youth Offending Service (YOS), the Special Educational Needs Strategic Services (SEN) and Inclusive Services within the division.
The Youth Service had a remit for working with Young People aged 10-25 years, with a specific target for working with those young people in the 13-19 age range.
The service delivers its work with young people within a variety of settings, at times which are suitable to young people, and through a curriculum framework based on the Every Child Matter five outcomes and which also has a social cohesion emphasis running through it.
A consultation exercise undertaken in 2005 with both young people and staff saw the development of a new 'Statement of Purpose' for the Service. This includes the vision, age ranges and values of the Service being clearly identified in the context of work with young people.
The statement of purpose is presented below.
