We aim to reduce casualties from road traffic accidents and reduce the number of car journeys to and from schools.

We do this by offering:

• The school crossing patrol service for Nottinghamshire
• Assisting schools in developing school travel plans
• Assisting schools taking part in walk to school events
• Developing safer routes to school
• Education, training and publicity for all ages on road safety for:
  - Cyclists
  - Pedestrians
  - Drivers
  - Motorcyclists
• Road safety education in schools
• Road safety information for parents

The Casualty Report 2007 [PDF 1.1MB] outlines current accident and casualty trends and our progress in casualty reduction and accident prevention.

The Cross-Service Road Safety Plan 2003-2010 [PDF 268KB] outlines the County's road safety strategy and supports its objective to improve road safety.

'Do it Up' is a campaign promoting the use of seatbelts. As part of the campagin, available online is a 'Do it up' promotional video and 'Do it Up' questionnaire
