What happens when I contact Connexions Direct?
No matter how you contact Connexions Direct you will be given confidential advice and support by an experienced adviser.
They will talk the issue through with you, offer advice and practical help and if necessary will tell you where you can get further information.
If you both agree that you need more face-to-face support, Connexions Direct will refer you to your local Connexions Partnership for one-to-one support from a Connexions Personal Adviser (PA). The adviser will be able to identify your local partnership and its contact details.
In some partnerships the adviser will be able to contact a PA on your behalf. The PA would then contact you to make an appointment. Or
The adviser can give you all the information you need to make the contact with a local Connexions PA yourself.
Connexions Direct and Schools and Colleges
You can talk individually to an adviser on-line while at school or college. If a whole class or group try to access the service at once it may stop a young person in need getting through. If you want to access Connexions Direct as part of a lesson, tell your teacher or tutor that they can email teachersupport@cxdirect.com to discuss their requirements in advance.
Connexions Direct Advisers
Many of the Connexions Advisors have had previous experience working face to face with young people; some are graduates with vocational degrees in subjects such as social work, teaching or youth work.
It is important to remember advisers are not legally or medically trained so they will only be able to offer general advice on these issues and then recommend an expert service for you to contact.
