A.We are qualified Youth Workers and Mediators. We work for Nottinghamshire County Council - Children and Young Peoples Services
A.We are based at the Information Shop for Young People, Mansfield Library, Mansfield, Notts. However we will travel to a place that is close to your home to see you.
A.We mediate between young people and their parents/carers. That is to say we encourage people to listen to each other, without interruption. We can help people to see each others point of view.
A. We have been youth workers for a long time now and we have been mediating for 4 years.
A. Focus Family Mediation Service is completely Free to any family living in Nottinghamshire.
A. An initial assessment (the first time we see you) will take about 30-40 minutes. After this regular appointments will last for 1 hour. We may see you weekly for a period of time.
A. An Assessment is where we talk to clients individually to build up a picture of what the problems are. We can then establish whether or not we can help you.
A. Your personal information can only be accessed by your mediators. However all mediators must abide by Notts County Council Child Protection procedures.

A. Never, only Social Services have the power to remove children whom they believe may be at risk of harm.
A. Mediation is voluntary for all parties, we can answer any questions that each party may have to eliminate any anxieties stopping them from attending, but it will be their choice.
