Waste Core Strategy
The first informal consultation ran between October and December 2006.
This first consultation exercise included a general issues and options paper which was supported by a series of background papers. These provided more detail on the different types of waste management, current facts and figures, and a summary of the main legal and policy guidance on waste. Meetings were also held with stakeholders and other key parties were contacted to help improve the evidence base prior to going out to general consultation.
A Sustainability Appraisal of our new documents is also being developed as an integral part of the Strategy. For the issues and options stage this involved the preparation of a scoping report.
