We are currently reviewing our bus strategies and it is planned that they will be replaced by an integrated passenger transport strategy for the whole county.
We currently have two comprehensive strategies for developing the bus network in Nottinghamshire; one for North Nottinghamshire and one for Greater Nottingham.
The bus strategies set out our policies for making best use of our powers and duties and provide the focus for improving the quality of bus services in Nottinghamshire.
North Nottinghamshire bus strategy
The North Nottinghamshire strategy covers the districts of Ashfield (excluding Hucknall), Bassetlaw, Mansfield and Newark and Sherwood. It is available to download in PDF format:

Local bus services
We are also committed in our Strategic Plan to recognising the need to provide better information about local bus services. This has led to the need to take a co-ordinated approach to the delivery of information. This must ensure that:
- the needs of the users of public transport services are met in the short, medium and long term
- information is provided to encourage new users to public transport
- the roles of both bus operators and the County Council are defined in the delivery of this information.
The local bus information strategy is just one part of a wider strategic approach to the planning and delivery of public transport in the county.
