Current and planned road works and closures
The interactive map below shows current and planned roadworks. You can search for a town or village or just zoom into the map to see individual road works schemes taking place. If you click on a scheme you can see the exact location of the works, what they involve, who is responsible for the works, the severity of any delays expected and how long they are scheduled to last.
Road works signage
Advance notice boards will be erected for all County Council funded major road works. Temporary advance advisory signs such as 'Work starts here' will be erected at least two weeks before commencement of work on site. These will be removed on commencement of works and replaced with a scheme sign showing contractors name and emergency contact details.
Works carried out by the utilities are not controlled by the County Council, although a small percentage of their work is inspected in order to maintain standards.
Section 58 Notices
Section 58 Notices give advance warning of road works taking place and state the restrictions that apply when these works are completed.

Planning an event affecting public roads and pavements
If you are planning an event affecting public roads or pavements, please let us know. Some types of events require our permission and we need to ensure that appropriate arrangements are in place to manage traffic, parking and the event itself. We can also provide useful advice to help your event run smoothly.

Event signage
Temporary signs for events may be erected with our consent. Approval is subject to meeting a number of specific conditions and will only be given for major events (such as the Robin Hood Marathon) and not for retail openings or other promotions for which permission will be refused.
Diversion routes will be signed where delays are expected to be caused by works on the roads or other events.
