Cross party highways review panel

The cross-party highways review panel was been set up to look at all areas of highways management, including:

  • road inspections
  • improvement programmes and funding
  • maintenance treatments
  • repair techniques

The panel works together with external organisations and professionals to examine the methods and technologies used to maintain and repair the county’s 2,750 miles of road.

This information gathered by the panel is used to suggest recommendations for improvement, and these are reported to the council’s Policy Committee.

Any policy changes which are agreed will then be applied, managed and overseen by the Transport and Environment Committee.
