Renew your blue badge
A letter reminding you to renew your blue badge will be sent to you about eight weeks before your badge expires.
Please let us know if you move house, so that the letter goes to the right address.
We will not automatically send you a new badge when your current one expires. It is your responsibility to re-apply for a new blue badge.
How to renew
To renew your blue badge you need to re-apply.
You will have to go through the same process as you would to apply for the first time. This is because:
- your situation (and what you are eligible for) might have changed
- the criteria for getting a blue badge might have changed. We need to assess your situation against the latest criteria so you need to fill out a new application and provide all of the evidence requested.
If you are moving address, but are staying within Nottinghamshire, you should contact our Customer Service Centre on 0300 500 80 80 or firstname.lastname@example.org to give them your new address. This will make sure that when we send you a reminder letter that your badge is about to expire it will go to the right address.
If you are moving to another council area you can carry on using your badge until it is due to expire. Six weeks before the expiry date you need to apply for your badge again via your new council area, using your new address.

If you have changed your vehicle you don't need to inform us. As the blue badge can be used in any vehicle, we don't need to have a record of your new registration number.
