Your details will come to us whether you apply online through GOV.UK or complete a paper application form. We will then consider your application and make a decision about whether you are eligible for a badge or not.
We will aim to process applications as quickly as possible, but please allow up to eight weeks for processing. This includes renewal applications.
If we ask for an independent mobility assessment we will make an appointment for you to see an occupational therapist. They will do the assessment.
If you are eligible, the badge will be sent to you by second class post once we have received all the correct documents, photograph and payment of £10 from you.
Telephone 0300 500 80 80 if your badge does not arrive within these times.
If you are not eligible
If you are not eligible for a badge we will write to you giving the reason. If you think the decision is wrong we will review it. To request a review, write to us explaining why you believe the decision was wrong:
The Blue Badge Team,
Nottinghamshire County Council,
Customer Service Centre,

You may be asked to have an independent mobility assessment with an occupational therapist as part of the review. If you have already had this assessment, you must provide new evidence about your difficulty in walking when you ask for the review.
