Apply for a pavement cafe licence

If you run a business and want to place tables, chairs or other temporary furniture on the pavement you require a licence.

Before you apply

Please read the standard conditions [PDF].

We recommend that you contact your local borough or district council (as the local planning authority). A premises licence will be required and there may be other planning issues to address.

We will only grant a pavement café licence with the agreement of your local district council and the police.

We will aim to deal with your application within six to eight weeks.

Make cheques payable to Nottinghamshire County Council.

Please return the completed application form and cheque to your local area highway office.
