Sports clubs and schools could buy a piece of the Olympics

07 November 2012
Notts County Council has already launched a £1m Olympic and Paralympic Legacy fund to ensure there is a lasting Olympic legacy in Notts.

Now local sports clubs and schools are been given the chance to buy a piece of Olympic history at an affordable price.

A local auction house is selling a variety of furniture and equipment from the Olympics and paralympics including lamps, lockers and chairs.

Prior to the sale, the furniture and equipment from the Olympics and Paralympics has only been available via an online sale.

Although the sale is aimed primarily at trade buyers purchasing in large quantities, Arthur Johnson & Sons is also holding a mini-auction of individual items to raise money for the Royal British Legion.

Just a fraction of the lots on sale will be on display at the auction house, which is hosting two viewing days, on Friday and Saturday, to allow potential buyers to take a closer look at what is on offer.
