Notice boards, benches and seats have been installed in villages across Bassetlaw thanks to Nottinghamshire County Council’s Local Improvement Scheme.
The latest village to have a notice board installed is Kirton with the funding application supported by local councillor Stella Smedley
Coun Smedley said: “The village notice board is a great way of communicating what is going on in the local area and over the last few years the Local Improvement Scheme has installed 17 notice boards in 13 villages across Bassetlaw.”
The scheme has also funded 17 seats in 11 villages and 24 villages have had new gateway signs at village entrances in 2011 and 2012.
Other villages benefiting from LIS in recent months include Walesby, Old Ollerton, Pearlthorpe and Budby.
Coun Smedley added: “Village signs are welcoming for locals and visitors alike and many of them feature landmarks in and around the local area.”
