Nottinghamshire County Council are throwing their support behind Age UK Nottingham and Nottinghamshire’s Campaign to End Loneliness.
The campaign aims to encourage as many people as possible to tackle the causes of loneliness. We hope to get individuals to make small changes in their behaviour to reduce the levels of loneliness.
Loneliness is a much of a health issue for older people as lifelong-smoking and has more of an impact as inactivity or obesity.
Support the campaign
The campaign is asking people to make a pledge to help end loneliness. It can be something as small as popping round to see an elderly neighbour once a week to larger activities like organising a social group in your community every fortnight.
To make your pledge visit the Age UK pledge form.
There’s also loads of ideas on there if you need inspiration for your own pledge.
