We're encouraging older and vulnerable people in Nottinghamshire to get their electric blanket tested before winter at three free safety check events.
Previous tests in the county found that on average, six out of ten blankets are faulty.
Older and disabled people are being offered the tests as part of a winter safety initiative by Trading Standards.
Anyone found to have a faulty electric blanket will be given the chance to exchange it for a new replacement or discount vouchers to buy their own.
All programmers and leads must be brought to the testing event with the blanket.
The events are taking place on the following dates:
Monday 15 October - Manton, Worksop
Tuesday 16 October - Carlton, Nottingham
Wednesday 17 October - West Bridgford

Places are limited so if you'd like to get your electric blanket tested, phone Trading Standards on tel: 01623 452005 to make an appointment. Details of the event locations will be provided at the time of booking.
