4th New Writers UK annual writing competition
School children from across Nottinghamshire are being urged to get creative for the 4th New Writers UK annual writing competition that was launched by the Chairman of NCC, Councillor Carol Pepper, at Rufford Country Park.
How to apply
The free to enter competition is open to Nottinghamshire pupils in School Years 4 to 10. In addition, a further category has been added for young adults age 18 or under.
There is no set theme, so entrants have a free choice of topic and can submit either short stories or poems.
Applications forms can be downloaded from website: www.newwritersuk.co.uk/competition.html.
The closing date for entries is Monday 30 July 2012.
Prizes
Finalists will be presented with their prizes by Michael Cox, a Nottinghamshire author of The Horrible Histories series at the 8th New Writers UK Book Fayre and Festival at County Hall, West Bridgford, on Saturday 22 September 2012.
The winning entries will be published as part of the prize package and presented to the finalists, entirely free of charge, during the February 2013 half term holiday.
