Nottinghamshire County Council - Proud of our past, ambitious for our future

Grant Aid 2012-15

Nottinghamshire County Council encourages and supports voluntary and community action. Our Corporate Grant Aid Strategy 2011-15 [PDF] details our plans and priorities for grant aid funding.

What is Grant Aid?

Grant Aid:

  • provides a discretionary financial contribution towards the delivery of non-statutory services which complement our strategic priorities
  • is for revenue funding (e.g. day-to-day items to run services)
  • cannot fund capital costs (e.g. spending on assets that will last for many years).

Please note that Sports and Arts grants are exceptions. Sports and Arts grants do not provide revenue funding but are for specific time-limited projects. In addition, capital costs, particularly for items that are essential to the running of the project are permitted.

Who is Grant Aid for?

Grant Aid is for voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations who seek financial assistance to help them to provide services and support to the residents of Nottinghamshire. Funding is not available for a statutory organisation like a school, an individual or sole trader or to make a profit that will not be reinvested in the community.

What are the Grant Aid award categories for the County Council?

Currently, Grant Aid is invested in the following award categories which are in line with the County Council's strategic priorities. Please click on the links below for further information about each category:
