One of the report's recommendations gave permission to consult with Heymann Primary School's staff, governors, pupils, parent/carers and other interested parties about the proposed developments at the school.
Particularly in respect of providing early years education places for 3 and 4 year olds at their school, the following important issues were taken into account by the governors of Heymann Primary:

Statutory Process
In order for the County Council to progress with their proposals, it is a legal requirement to publish a 'statutory notice' to significantly expand the physical capacity of the school and also to alter the lower age range limit of the school from 5-11 to 3-11 years. This is part of the process that gives formal notice of the proposals to those at the school and others in the immediate area. Prior to the notice being published however, the County Council is also required to consult with local people so that they can give their views. If you have any views or comments on the proposals mentioned in this leaflet, there are a number of ways you can have your say. Please let us have your response by Friday 1 June 2012.
The responses collected will help to make a recommendation to the County Council about whether to publish a statutory notice.
If the County Council agrees to the publication of the notice, there will be a further six week period during which formal comments or objections can be made about the proposals.
The outcome of representations made in writing to the notice will then be considered by the County Council as part of its statutory duties before making a final decision on whether or not the proposals can be implemented.
Depending on the outcome of the decision making process, it is proposed to have the new additional pupil and early years places available from September 2013.

Why are you making changes?
Following several discussions over recent months with schools in the West Bridgford area, a report about the local situation concerning school place provision was considered by the County Council's Cabinet on 14 March 2012.
This report demonstrated that there is a very high demand for the number of permanent school places in the West Bridgford community to be increased at the earliest opportunity.
It is Government policy and a statutory duty on the County Council that there are sufficient early years education places in an area. Places can be delivered through Local Authority maintained schools and providers in the private, independent and voluntary sectors. Providing these places at Heymann Primary will offer parental choice around the type of early years place a child can access.
How will a decision be made?
As decision maker, NCC's Children & Young People's (C & YP) Committee will receive a report after 1 June 2012 (written response deadline) on the outcomes of the consultation and take account of all written/online replies before making a decision on how best to move forward.
If the C & YP committee agree that the proposal should proceed to the next stage of the statutory process, a public notice will be published.

When will changes come into effect?
This will depend on the decision making process but it is proposed that the additional pupil places and EYEPs are made available from September 2013.
