Data Protection Act

If you want to know what information the Council has about you then you have rights under the Data Protection Act (DPA) 1998. This is commonly referred to as a 'subject access request'. 

Make a request

You can write to the council at:

or email accessto.records@nottscc.gov.uk.

We will ask you for further details to help us find the information you want. This will include asking you to prove your identity and we will write to you with details of what we need.

Once we have confirmed who you are we will try and respond to your request within 40 days of recipt of your proof of identity.


We may charge you a fee for providing the information. We will tell you first so that you can choose whether to proceed or not.
