Budget 2013/14 headlines

  • Council Tax frozen
  • £11.2m extra to protect our most vulnerable children
  • £18m extra to provide support for older people to help them live more independently at home
  • £1m extra on roads, to repair 5,000 potholes, on top of the 36,000 pothole repairs carried out each year
  • £500,000 for a Youth Employment strategy, to help young people into work through better skills and improved links with employers
  • £700,000 additional investment in the County Council’s Sport Legacy Fund to support grass roots sports clubs
