Councillor John Allin is the Chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council. As Chairman, John is the civic head of the county, representing Nottinghamshire at local and national events.
John was elected to the County Council in 2005 and represents the Warsop division.
A proud champion of Nottinghamshire, John served as Chairman of the County Council in 2007/8.
John has held a number of senior political roles at the County Council including Deputy Cabinet Member for Children and Young People.
Following the local elections in 2009, John became the Opposition spokesperson for Children & Young People. In 2011 John became the Opposition spokesperson for Personnel issues at the County Council.
As both Parish Councillor and County Councillor for Warsop, John is kept very busy serving the needs of his constituents. His commitment to public duty extends to serving as Chairman of Warsop Age Concern, Meden Vale the Future, Welbeck Colliery the Future and the Nottinghamshire Proficiency Test Committee. John is also Vice-Chairman of the League of Hospital Friends’ and a Member of the Age Concern County Forum.

Chairman's Charity 2013/14: Rainbows Hospice
Councillor John Allin, the Chairman of the County Council, is raising money for Rainbows (www.rainbows.co.uk), the East Midlands Hospice for Children and Young People, during his year in office.
Rainbows provides a second home to families, providing a Home from Home enviornment to care for children and young people, while giving their families a break from lives day to day worries and heartache. Rainbows is a voluntary orgainsation and receives no Govenrment funding. Over £4 milion is needed each year to keep providing the services families, children and young people rely on.
