The memorial is a three light stained glass window. Left hand light: inscription 'In grateful memory of the members of this church who died in the Great War 1914-1918'. Centre light: Sir Galahad with inscription 'The Utmost for the Highest'. Right hand light: names of those who died (6). The church records (Deacons' Miinutes) show that a memorial committee was formed in February 1919. The committee included relatives of some of the men who died: Mr Blasdale, Mrs Harry Parrott, Mr Edwin Parrott, Mr Goodliffe and Miss Johnson. The names of members of the congregation who had served in the war and were members of the church or the Sunday School were referred to the Memorial Committee for consideration for the ROH. The ROH was unveiled on Sunday, 25 April 1920, the names of those who died are not identified. The ROH was formerly on the east wall of the church but was moved to the entrance at the west end following major alterations to the interior of the church. The dedication and a design for the window, based on GF Watts' 'Sir Galahad', were approved in May 1919. Hyson Green Congregational Church is now the Boulevard United Reformed Church; the United Reformed Church was formed in 1972 as a union of the Presbyterian Church of England and the Congregational Church in England and Wales.
