1st Bn Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment)
65902 Lance Corporal Thomas Chambers entered theatre after 1 January 1916 and was posted to 1st battalion Sherwood Foresters (Nott's and Derby Regiment). Thomas could have been wounded at any time up to and including the 5 July 1918 as the Battle of the Aisne 1918, raged. The 1st battalion had all but ceased to exist by 5 June with casualties and missing totalling, 680 all ranks. This left 110 all ranks left.
Soldiers Died in the Great War - Chambers Thomas, born Nottingham, enlisted Derby, abode Bulwell Nott's, 65902, L/Cpl, died of wounds, France and Flanders, 5/6/18. Vailly British Cemetery - I. AA. 8 Thomas's remains would have been brought to this cemetery after the Armistice.
