Able Seaman William Rhodes, R.N.V.R., Anson Battalion Royal Naval Division, was killed in action on 4th June 1915. He is commemorated on the Helles Memorial. Enlisted in the Northumberland Fusiliers 7/9/14 and transferred to the RNVR at Crystal Palace 10/9/14; Anson Bn. 16/1/15-4/6/15 DD. Born 10/4/1886. A Miner. Wife, Florence Rhodes, 1 Lewis Place, Bloomsgrove St., Radford, Nottingham. Son of Samuel and Martha Rhodes. His wife later remarried & became Mrs Florence Love. ADM/171 = St.V.B. issued to Widow.
