Radford Nottingham
Leonard Lee was born in 1886 the eldest son of George (died aged 51 in 1912) and Mary Ann (née Clark) Lee. His father was born in 1861 at Radford Nottingham and his mother in 1861 also at Radford. They were married in 1884 in Nottingham and had a further son Henry, born 1889 in Nottingham. In 1911 they lived at 10 Thurman Street Hyson Green Nottingham. George was unemployed, Mary worked as a lace hand and Henry as a draper’s porter. Mary Ann later lived at 43 Thurman Street.
He was a lace threader in 1911.

12th Bn The Prince of Wales's Own (West Yorkshire Regiment)
Private 30467 Leonard Lee enlisted at Nottingham and served with the 12th Battalion Prince of Wales’ Own (West Yorkshire) Regiment, he was killed in action on 21st November 1917 and s buried Favreuil British Cemetery. France, grave reference II C 14.
In Memoriam published on 21st February 1918 in the Nottingham Evening Post : ‘LEE. - In loving memory of Pte. L. Lee, who fell in action November 21st, 1917, 12th West Yorks. Regt., the oldest son of Mrs. Lee, 43, Thurman Street.
