Private George Herbert Powell, 18th Canadian Infantry Battalion, was killed in action on 12th April 1916. He is buried in Voormezeele Enclosure No. 3.
Death notice published 16th May 1916 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- POWELL. – Killed in action, April 12th, Private G. H. (Bert) Powell, Canadian Infantry, beloved husband of May, Toronto, and dearly loved brother of Florence Simpson, 91, Russell-road.
