Private Austin Tegart, 17th Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment (Welbeck Rangers), was killed in action on 11th July 1916. He is buried in Bethune Town Cemetery.
A younger brother, Herbert Tegart, was killed in an accident at Gedling Colliery on 9th March 1915 his obituary was published on 9th March 1916 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- “TEGART. – In loving memory of Herbert Tegart, beloved son of Alice Allen (late Tegart), killed at Gedling Pit, March 9th, 1915.
