He was the son of James and Elizabeth Bailey and the brother of Sillie and Flora May Bailey. In 1911 they lived at 13 Selhurst Street Hyson Green Nottingham.
He was a brass bobbin finisher in 1911.

1st Bn Northumberland Fusiliers
Private Harry Bailey, enlisted in Nottingham and served initially with the Sherwood Foresters Regiment before transferring to 1st Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, he was killed in action on 19th August 1916. He has no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
Death notice published on 1st February 1917 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- BAILEY. – Missing August 19th, now officially reported killed in action, Private Harry Bailey, Northumberland Fusiliers, formerly Sherwood Foresters, aged 30 years.
