Brothers:William H., born in 1898 in Nottingham and Thomas F., born in 1903 in Nottingham. Sister: Ida, born in 1893 in Nottingham and working as a blouse cutter out. The family lived at 77 Henry Street, Nottingham, 441 Meadow Lane, Nottingham and finally 16 Thoresby Avenue, Sneinton Hermitage, Nottingham.
Percy Vicars worked as a jacquard card maker.

Pte. Viccars volunteered for service and following training he was drafted to France, arriving on 07/04/1915. The battalion was involved in severe fighting in the Ypres Salient, following the German use of gas a month before. Pte. Vicars was killed in action on 08/05/1915. his body was never recovered, but his name was commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial at Ypres.
