1st Bn Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment)
Sergeant Albert Woolley, enlisted in Nottingham and served with 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire) Regiment. He landed in France on 4th November 1914. , he died of wounds on 1st June 1916 and is buried in Barlin Communal Cemetery Extension, Grave Reference: I. B. 40. Cemetery:
Nottingham Evening Post notice (abridged), 15 June 1916: ‘Woolley. Died of wounds, 1st June, Sgt A Woolley aged 28 years, Sherwood Foresters, 305 St Ann’s Well Road,. Mother, father, brothers, sisters.’ Rachel Farrand
