Missing on the hospital ship Brittanic, former White Star Line (sister ship of the Titanic), requisitioned by the government. She sailed from Southampton on 12 November 1916 for Mudros to evacuate casualties. On 21 November 1916 she sank in the Kea Channel following a massive explosion, probably caused by hitting a sea mine laid by a German submarine. The ship sank within 55 minutes of the explosion. Most of the approximately 30 casualties of over a thousand onboard died when two lifeboats, which had been lowered without orders, were sucked into the ship's propellers.
