He was the son of E Parsons of 36 Salisbury Street Radford Nottingham and the husband of Elizabeth (née Spick) Parsons who lived at 5 Holland Street Radford. He was the father of William Spick.

Private William Parsons, served with the 5th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 3rd June 1918. He is buried in Fouquieries Churchyard Extension.
