Albert Edward Poynter was the son of Joseph and Eliza Poynter, born in 1881. He had 2 children, Albert Edward 1910, and Evelyn, 1911 before marrying Rose Hannah Smith of Worksop in 1914 at Worksop, prior to the commencement of the war.
