The Hon Josceline Charles William Savile Foljambe was the son of Lord Cecil G S Foljambe, 4th Earl of Liverpool, PC, and his second wife, Susan Louisa Cavendish (born 16/5/1848, died 18/12/1917). Born on the 16th October 1882 at St Martins in the Field, London, he was the fifth of eleven children and was educated at Eton. One sister, Lady Mabel Evelyn Selina Mary (Woodburn), died 12 November 1915 and another, Lady Alice Etheldreda Georgiana Mary Foljambe, died 3 June 1922.

1st Bn Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry
In 1911 he was attending the Royal Military College at Sandhurst, age 18. In his military career he was three times mentioned in despatches. He was killed at the relief of Kut, Mesopotamia, on 6 April 1916, age 34, and is named on the Basra Memorial, Iraq.
Memorial in Scofton St John church on which his mother and two sisters, Mabel and Alice, are also commemorated: 'Bt Maj Hon Josceline Charles William Savile Foljambe, Oxfordshire Light Infantry (43rd), born Oct 18th 1882, killed at the relief of Kut, Mesopotamia, April 6th 1916.
